Spring Is In the Air!

Spring Is In the Air

As the winter months are passing most of us are ready to get out and get some fresh air, clean out our yards, gardens and start our annual spring cleaning. According to Martha Stewart, “There are few rites of spring more satisfying than the annual clean.” That spring cleaning list can get long when you start to think about all the things from shampooing carpets to cleaning all the windows in your home. Pheww, I’m tired already! Don’t worry; you can do it by taking one task at a time and seeing it though.

A number of your spring cleaning items may have more to do with spring maintenance, than cleaning. Our homes are a constant project of up keep, beautify and maintain. We all take pride in our home, yard, and cars and that is why we put our sweat into keeping them in the best shape possible. You know the best wax for your car, you have your riding lawn mower set to the perfect height, but do you know the proper steps for maintaining your artificial stone? We are often asked a few questions about the “up keep” of manufactured stone. The following is a few tips if you have stone veneer anywhere in your home.

One big draw for many people to M-Rock stone is the low amount of maintenance required once your project is completed. This is not a product that is going to require a lot of your attention over the years. In fact we recommend against even using a sealant because it is simple not needed and it could harm your stone. If you insist on some cleaning in the following years after your stone has been installed we simple tell our customers to take water and a nylon masonry brush to lightly clean their stone. No cleaning products! Just water! There are things to avoid when first installing your stone and you can find the answers to those issues at www.m-rockstone.com in the frequently asked questions section or call our 866-896-7625 customer service line if you feel you have further questions.

So, as you are making your spring cleaning list just go ahead and mark off cleaning your stone, it doesn’t need your attention this spring.
